The students of Carolina Performing Arts Center will present "Alice in Wonderland," at 7 p.m. tonight (Friday, April 25) at Owens Auditorium on the campus of Sandhills Community College.

There were two performances scheduled for schools at 10 and 11:30 a.m. this morning, and students will also perform at Springfest tomorrow (Saturday, April 26).

"This family program of magical dancing with the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and, of course, Alice and her many friends will take you back to your childhood memories when you fall down the rabbit hole again," says Sue Peterson, executive director.

"Between the dancing flowers and the dancing cards you will wonder if you are dreaming or really in that curious Caucus Race with Alice and her usual and unforgettable playmates.

During the second half of the program, the audience will see a collection of pieces in a variety of dance styles including classical ballet, lyrical and jazz. Dancers demonstrate their versatility and creative expressiveness from contemporary works, musicals such as "Mary Poppins" in the 1970s, to pieces choreographed by Sue Peterson, Diana Turner-Forte, and visiting guest teacher, Helen Grant.

"CPAC is also pleased to welcome Caitlin Mundth from the Carolina Ballet Company who will perform a piece from 'Raymonda,'" says Peterson.
