A lot of perfection bounced off the Union Pines boys' tennis team's rackets Monday at Triton.

The Vikings defeated Triton 9-0 in the rain-shortened match, running their Cape Fear Valley (3-A) Conference record to a perfect 12-0 this season. With only two conference matches remaining, the Vikings have wrapped up the regular-season conference title. The three doubles matches were shortened because of the rain.

Gary Garner won his 90th career match to climb to No. 33 on the school's career win list.

Next up for the Vikings is another conference matchup with South Johnston at Union Pines today.

Union Pines' overall record is 14-1, with the lone loss coming to county-rival Pinecrest, a 4-A school that is undefeated and leading the Mid-Southeastern Conference.
