Margie Helen Rhyne, 82, of Pfafftown, formerly of Candor, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at Kingswood Nursing Center, Aberdeen.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Ellerbe Cemetery.

Mrs. Rhyne was born March 8, 1926, in Gaston County, a daughter of the late Nathaniel Brookshire and Ola Mae Smith Rhyne. She was a seamstress, and a member of Pfafftown Baptist Church and a former member of Candor Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Rhyne; and a daughter, Gail Jenkins.

Mrs. Rhyne is survived by a son, Rick Rhyne and his wife, Wanda, of Aberdeen; two daughters, Brenda Morton and her husband, Ronnie, of Landrum, S.C., and Cindy Bennett, of Pfafftown; a brother, Bill Thompson, of Stanley; two sisters, Mary Allison, of Mt. Holly, and Ruth Hardin, of Dallas, 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Joseph and Kathleen Bryan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 2200 W. Main St., Suite A-230, Durham, NC 27705, or to the American Cancer Society.
