Cut Out the 'Banal'
This is in response to Fred Wolferman's April 4 column.
Are we voters not jaded enough already? Mr. Wolferman's comments about Al Gore fairly drip with cynicism and are not helpful to the reader.
Let us abandon the banal discussion about what size suit a person wears. Such comments about Gore's or anyone else's clothing size indicate a painfully small view of what is important in the world.
There are vital issues at stake, issues that require awareness and rational thinking, not sarcasm and trite remarks. Al Gore is no rock star, he's merely calling our attention to the most severe problems our species likely have ever faced. Let us focus on those.
