Change in April Candidate Forum

Betty Mangum (D), a candidate for District 52, NC House of Representatives, has notified the groups sponsoring the candidate forum to be held Tuesday, April 15, that since she has no opposition on the Democratic primary ballot, she will not participate in this forum.

The other candidates participating in the forum are: for N.C. Senate District 22- Harris Blake (R) and Cindy Richardson Morgan (R); and for the N.C. House of Representatives, District 52-, Jamie Boles (R), Joe Boylan (R) and Lane Toomey (R). The candidates for Moore County Commissioners who are participating include District ll: Nancy Roy Fiorillo (R) and Nick Picerno (R) as well as District lV: Tim Lea (R) and Timothy A (Tim) Sloan (R).

The Candidate Forum, to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Seven Lakes West Community Center, is being sponsored by three civic groups: the Moore County Chapter of the NAACP, the Seven Lakes Civic Group and the League of Women Voters of Moore County.

"The public is welcome to attend," says a spokesman.

Visitors to Seven Lakes West must use the Beacon Ridge entrance off N.C. 211.

The security guard will let you through if you mention the forum. Proceed past the gate to the end of the short road. Turn left on Longleaf. The community center is the next left turn on Longleaf.

Park behind the Seven Lakes West Community center; the forum will be upstairs.
