On behalf of the United Way of Moore County, thank you to everyone who contributed to the first Tour de Trike tricycle race for adults. The committee was full of wonderful ideas, and they are still bubbling over with new ones. They are now even more excited about a second Tour de Trike.

Without their enthusiasm, it could not have been done. Each of our sponsors deserves praise for helping to make the tricycle race possible and for each time they willingly step forward to support our community.

We thank each of the riders who pedaled with all their might toward the finish line. Each person we asked to participate enthusiastically rose to the challenge. Some said yes with a chuckle and a smile while others responded with a hearty laugh. They were all good sports and brought laughs to those who braved the weather to cheer them on.

Thank you to those who stood along the sidelines cheering on that cold, wet afternoon. I hope you had a great time and a cup of hot chocolate to warm you later. We hope we have raised awareness about the efforts of the United Way of Moore County and that we have made some new friends.

Last year, more than 30,000 people in this community benefited from programs supported by the United Way. We couldn't have that kind of impact were it not for those who provide financial support.

Every dollar contributed to United of Moore County equals lives changed for the better. The Tour de Trike steps forward now to help in our quest to do more in our community. I think I can truly speak for all when I say the Tour de Trike was great fun!
