Steve McArthur Parks, 42, of Raeford, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Shiloh Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Sanders Read officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.

Mr. Parks was born Sept. 1, 1965, in Moore County. He was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Patience M. Parks; a son, Brandon Parks, of the home; his parents, Marshall L. and Janice B. Parks, of Raeford; a brother, Michael L. Parks and his wife, Vera, of Raeford; three sisters, Carol Thornberg and Jennifer Holder, both of Raeford, and Marsha Broadway and her husband, Jim, of Aberdeen; in-laws, John and Josephine Massel, of Canada.
