Linden Garden Club Hears Olin

The Linden Garden Club of Pinewild met Thursday, March 20, at the Pinewild Country Club.
The guest speaker, Bruce Olin of Olin Tree Service, discussed extensively the types of trees and shrubs that will flourish in the local environment. He emphasized proper plant choice and the importance of fertilization schedules. A question-and-answer session followed.
President Jeanne Leone presided over the business meeting, welcoming guests, Leighton Bohlender, Nancy McElreath and Brenda Brown. Secretary Martha Romero presented the minutes of the previous meeting and Treasurer Nona Burrell updated the financial report to the membership.
Vice president and program chairman Jane Waldemar announced that the program for the April 17 meeting will be a discussion of Xeriscape gardening, a water conservation system of gardening. Master Gardener Arlene Hantjis will present this timely topic. Members should contact Dawn Munday to make their reservations for this informative program and optional luncheon.
