Vike Girls' Soccer Defeats Mustangs, Rocky Mount

The Union Pines girls' soccer team moved to 3-0 with a 2-0 victory at Rocky Mount on Friday. The Vikings beat inter-county rival North Moore in Robbins Thursday night by a 3-0 score.
In the win over the Mustangs, all the goals were scored in the first 30 minutes of the match. Freshman Anna Pilson scored the first one and junior Brittany Thurlow scored the next two. In Friday's win, the Viking goals were scored by freshmen Ellie Reynolds in the 27th minute and Kayla Lively in the 68th minute.
Goalkeepers Jessie Puszynski and Summer Hennings shared duties in posting the two shutout wins.
Union Pines opens Cape Fear Valley Conference play on Monday when it entertains Overhills at 7 p.m.
