Moore County Girl Scouts started the much-awaited cookie sales Jan 9. Girls in Moore County will be selling cookies until March.

This year's varieties include Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Trefoils, Samoas, All Abouts, Caf Cookies, and new sugar-free Little Brownies.

The price per box is $3.50, and all of the proceeds generated from the program stay within the girls' local areas.

All the cookies have zero trans fat.

"The cookies are great to freeze for serving later after cookie sales are over," says a spokesman.

Stephanie Jenkins and Sherry Scott, and Jane Scrugg of Troops 202 and 856 were in charge of this year's Moore County Cookie Rally. The theme was "Step It Up!"

The girls were offered activities to go along with the theme. The girls also got to sample all of the cookies.

For more information on the cookie sale, call Moore County Girl Scouts at 910-692-6156 or visit the Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Web site at www.pinesof carolina.org.
