Pinecrest dropped to 1-3 in Mid-Southeastern Conference standings following a 55-21 loss at Jack Britt High School Wednesday evening. The Patriots are still on the plus side of the win-loss column with an 11-10 record in dual competition.

Pinecrest fell into a hole early in a meet that started at the 125-pound weight class, falling behind 29-0 before Brad McKeever posted the first team points with a 9-3 decision over David Salehroa at 152 pounds.

Mike Evans made a strong showing at 160, coming from behind in the third period to edge ahead of Marcus Mays 5-4, before losing position on a reversal that swung the match to Mays at 6-5.

Chandler Moore added six for the Pats with an impressive pin over Britt's Matt Upchurch. Moore got caught on the initial takedown, but powered his way back to his feet for an escape and takedown that took Upchurch straight to his back. Moore earned the fall in just 49 seconds.

Glen Holmes notched another win, stepping up from his usual spot at 189 to challenge Britt 215-pounder Arsenio Lett. Holmes planted Lett on the mat and squeezed the pin with time to spare in the first period, improving his overall record to 32-1. Holmes is sitting in the No. 2 spot in NCMat.com's Super 32 rankings.

Pinecrest heavyweight Andrew Pugsley surged in the second period with a takedown and nearfall that threatened to put away Britt's Justice Ike, but a fresh start from the neutral position in the third period went sour for Pugsley as Ike scored the pin at the 4:46 mark.

Pinecrest 103-pounder Sam Ransdell marked a milestone with win No. 30, sticking Brandon Beckman in about that many seconds. The win improves his stock to 4-0 in conference competition and 30-7 overall. Ransdell is ranked fourth in the Super 32.

Pinecrest returns to Jack Britt this weekend to compete in the Boneyard Bash, an individual format tournament that starts this evening and continues through Saturday.
