Helen Edwards McDonald, 64, of Red Springs, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bradley Boberg officiating. Burial will be in the Alloway Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Crumpler Funeral Home in Red Springs.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Robeson County on Sept. 30, 1942, to the late Herbert and Pauline Baxley Edwards. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Junior Dilettantes in Red Springs.
Mrs. McDonald retired from the Red Springs School System in 1994 after 31 years of service. She was a talented musician.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband, David L. McDonald; her two sons, Scott D. McDonald of Red Springs, and Eric L. McDonald and his wife, Dena, of Raleigh; two brothers, Earl Edwards and his wife, Martha K., and H.C. (Lum) Edwards and his wife, Sally, all of Red Springs; three grandchildren, Taylor, Jack and Layla; and two nieces and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Red Springs, NC 28377.
