Harold Ross Tyson, 71, formerly of Laurel Hill, died at his home in Pinehurst Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst with Rev. J.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.

Born in Anson County, Mr. Tyson was the son of the late Pearl and Ethel Tyson. He worked for many years with Alltel Telephone before retiring in 1996. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty; a daughter, Kelly Tyson, of Pinehurst; a son, Eric Tyson, and his wife, Mindy, of Asheboro; two brothers, Robert "Shorty" Tyson, of Wadesboro, and Leo Tyson of Ansonville; four sisters, Mattie Gaddy of Wadesboro, Jennie Thomas of Wadesboro, Alice Warrick of Rockingham, and Ella Hargett of Wingate; and one grandson, Zachary.
