Victims' Pain

This letter is in support of Teena Comer (letter, Feb. 9). I agree with her 100 percent. I have known Teena for years, and I know the pain this incident has caused her young daughter, her husband and herself.
In her son's case, the accused have not even made it to trial yet. I get so tired of hearing about the rights of offenders.
What about the rights of victims and their families? Teena, her family and the families of the other victims have waited three years for justice and continue to wait. This is cruel and painful, and unfortunately it is inflicted on people who had no choice.
Why do we worry so much about causing pain to these people? I can promise they did not give the same thought to their victims. In my opinion, if someone can murder another human being without causing pain to either that person or anyone who loves them, then they deserve to have a humane execution.
Otherwise, don't worry about it. I can promise you that the pain they will feel for a few moments will in no way compare to the pain they inflicted.
