The Linden Garden Club of Pinewild held its first meeting of 2007 on Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Pinewild Country Club. Vice-President Jane Waldemar introduced Aldena Frye of Aldena Frye Custom Floral Design. Frye gave a presentation on decorating with fresh and silk flowers. A broad variety of cuttings was used to show how to add color and beauty to homes during the winter doldrums. She provided examples of how to use all kinds of containers with a wide variety of blooms and greenery.
President Janet Waters opened the meeting with the introduction of new member Jenny Wiley and some Pinewild guests: Peggy Simone, Karen Samaras, Louise Kennedy, Valerie Kessenger, Eileen Esch, Sherry Sutherland, and Sharon Hickey. Secretary Dede Degrange presented the minutes from the last meeting and Treasurer Nona Burrell gave the financial report.
The next club meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, when Jeff Etheridge of Etheridge Landscaping and Design will present landscaping and design ideas for the new homeowner or those wanting to update an existing plan. Members are reminded to contact Dawn Munday to reserve a spot for the meeting and to let her know if they are staying for lunch.
