Pinehurst Garden Club announces the date for its spring plant sale. This year's event is scheduled for April 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the village parking lot next to the Given Library.

Holly Branch is in charge of the sale this year, and chair-women Alice Campbell and co-chair Elizabeth Kismet will co-ordinate with their sales representative Cynthia McIver to assure a successful floral event.

Featured at the sale will be flats (36 plants) of impatiens, red- and green-leafed begonias and vincas, priced at $11 and 6 1/2 inch pots of geraniums for $4.50.

These flowers can be pre-ordered by calling Elizabeth Kimsey at 295-2956 or Alice Campbell at 295-2949.

Day of sale will include ferns, herbs, sun coleus and mandovillas and hanging plants.

All the proceeds from the plant sale go toward community projects. This year's monies will go to the Given Memorial Library, the Village Arboretum, Village beautification projects and two scholarships for horticultural students at the Sandhills Community College.
