Second-grade student, Brandon Williams, was selected as "Principal for a Day" at Robbins Elementary School. Williams received this prestigious honor for being the top-seller during the school's fall fundraiser. He was also a contestant in a "pig race" with other students who sold in the fundraiser. When Williams drew a number for his mechanical pig, he drew a pink one. He was a little reluctant at first considering the color, but his pig was the fastest and won the prize.
During his day as "principal," Williams went around to the classes throughout the school encouraging students to do their best, but warning them that they needed to complete their work or they would visit his office. As part of his duties, Williams also made the morning school announcements and introduced motivational speaker and storyteller, Granddaddy Junebug at a school assembly.
"There were no problems, and the students did a good job," said Williams.
