North Moore Girls Take First Place In Cross Country

The North Moore High School girls' cross country team has placed first in each of the five meets that it have run this season.
In the process, as most of the meets were either triangular or quadrangular meets, the Mustang girls have defeated every other team in the Yadkin Valley Conference at least once. Their record against the other teams in the conference is 12-0
In a meet on Tuesday that was run at Jordan-Matthews High School, the North Moore girls placed six runners among the top 10 to finish ahead of both Jordan-Matthews and West Montgomery. Hannah Carriker finished in second-place overall, Johnna Nall placed fourth, Hannah Thomas fifth, Katie Richardson seventh, Sara Lansdowne ninth and Lauren Lansdowne 10th.
The North Moore boys' team finished second in the meet behind Jordan-Matthews, but ahead of West Montgomery. The Mustangs' Jeremy Forrest was the overall winner in the boys' meet, Daniel Hodges placed sixth, Jared Robbins 10th, Cory Robbins 11th and Ben Purvis 12th.
"I couldn't be prouder of the job our girls are doing," said Mustang coach Chris Coble, "and the guys are working hard and steadily getting better. I was encouraged by their performance today."
