On Saturday, Sept. 30, an expo titled Access Moore for Boomers and Beyond will be held in the Dempsey Student Center on the campus of Sandhills Community College from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Access Moore is a free, comprehensive information expo designed for residents age 50 and older. Business, support agencies and nonprofit organizations with something to offer this population will be on hand to explain their services.
The expo will kick off in Owens Auditorium on the campus of Sandhills Community College at 9 a.m. with the keynote, "Celebrating the Caregiver in You."
One of the many events sponsored by the expo is an informal "Candidate Meet and Greet" to be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Invitations were extended to candidates for N.C. Senate and House and Congress, as well as Moore County commissioner.
This session will give residents a chance to meet the candidates face to face in a casual setting rather than a moderated debate or forum.
The expo is organized by the college's Center for Creative Retirement, HomeChoice Network, the Moore County Department of Aging and AARP.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Sandhills Community College is at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst. For more information, call Cindy Ellison at 695-3779.
