Fall Litter Sweep Set
Keep Moore County Beautiful, Inc. is gearing up for the annual Fall Litter Sweep, which is the statewide roadside cleanup drive scheduled through Sept. 30.
Those interested in helping Keep Moore County Beautiful may come out on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 8 a.m., to the Belk parking lot facing U.S. 15-501 and meet some of the board members while assisting with this highway cleanup.
Play Continues
Sandhills Little Theatre presents "The Music Man" Friday, Sept. 22, Saturday, Sept. 23, and Sunday, Sept. 24, at Owens Auditorium, SCC.

'Meet and Greet'
The Sandhills Woman's Exchange, a nonprofit organization, will host a "Meet and Greet" coffee for volunteers on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m., in the log cabin at 15 Azalea Road in Pinehurst.
All current and prospective volunteers are invited to attend.
Due to increasing business at the Exchange, the following additional volunteers are needed: sales associates, dining room hostesses, general office and consignment assistance, landscape and yard maintenance.
"Call the Exchange at 295-4677 and let us know if you will attend," says a spokesman.
Soccer Shootout
A "Soccer Shootout" will be held at the Southern Pines Elks Club Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 to 11 a.m. The competition is open for ages 5 to 13.
There is no entry fee.
Refreshments will be served to the children who enter the contest.

Auto Show
There will be an antique auto show, Saturday, Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Pinehurst Harness Track, N.C. 5.
Admission is free.
The show is sponsored by the Sandhills Chapter of the AACA and the Village of Pinehurst Parks and Recreation Department.

Simmons Here
Tickets are still available for Richard Simmons' two-hour Sept. 23 session at the Carolina Hotel that features an hour-long light, fun aerobics class, followed by a nutrition and health talk, question-and-answer time and autographs.
The event is scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m.
The $50 ticket includes light refreshments.

Concert
A concert by the Artie Shaw Orchestra will benefit FirstHealth Hospice Foundation at Pinecrest High School, Saturday, Sept. 23, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., sponsored by Sears.
Tickets are $15.

Benefit
Robbins First Baptist Church is hosting "Roy Phillips Day" at 651 Hemp St., Robbins, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 23 (rain date will be Oct. 7).
There will be a car show with judging starting at 10 a.m., a silent auction, gospel singing, and a food and bake sale.
All proceeds benefit Roy Phillips. For more information, call 948-2768.
