Ruth E. Shuttleworth, 76, of Pinebluff, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at her home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ives Memorial Baptist Church in Pinebluff, with the Rev. Don Ballenger officiating. Burial will follow in Pinebluff Cemetery.

Mrs. Shuttleworth was born March 29, 1930, in Knox, Ind., to the late Zenal and Alice Zellar Artist. Before moving to North Carolina, she was a member of the Countryside Christian Church in Michigan City, Ind. She loved golf and was a member of several golf leagues. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and singing in the church choir at Ives Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Mrs. Shuttleworth is survived by her husband, Wesley Shuttleworth; her sons, Bruce Neil Ulam and his wife, Sandy, of LaPorte, Ind., and Douglas John Shuttleworth and his wife, Maryann, of Portage, Ind.; her daughters, Brenda Nell Dzierba and her husband, Jack, of Michigan City, Ind., Debra Louise Staats and her husband, Bruce, of Grand Junction, Colo., Pamela Anderson and her husband, Terry, of Oak Hills, Calif., and Elaine Marie Huffman of Chesterton, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
