Let's Tell Whole Story

In Carl Sellers' Sept. 6 letter, he says President Nixon got credit for ending the Vietnam War. He then gave credit to the Democratic Congress for cutting off the money.

He said there's a fat chance the Republican Congress would do anything so effective. Since they don't teach history much anymore, let me give the younger generation a lesson.

Korea or Vietnam never took Americans hostage, never killed an American, never blew up our embassies or crashed our planes.

Presidents Truman, Kennedy and Johnson sent our troops to fight these wars. We lost over 100,000 troops, and these were Democratic presidents.

How about this, Mr. Sellers?
