Lawrence F. Walsh, 68, of Aberdeen, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ballard and Lindgren Funeral Home, 161 Oakwood Ave., Elmira, N.Y., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.

Mr. Walsh was born March 17, 1938, in Elmira, N.Y.. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, in 1957. In 1964, the family moved to Schenectady, N.Y., where they spent the next 25 years before moving back to Elmira. In 1997, Mr. and Mrs. Walsh relocated to Moore County. At the time of his death, Mr. Walsh was employed by Upstate Detailing Inc. as director of estimating. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Walsh.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Lawren Getz and her husband, Greg, of Katy, Texas, Kathleen Laing and her husband, Jason, of Malta, N.Y.; sons, Daniel Walsh and his wife, Joy, of Glenville, N.Y., Stephen Walsh and his wife, Cynthia, of Burnt Hills, N.Y., Jonathon Walsh and his wife, Lisa, of Indianapolis, Ind., David Walsh and his wife, Melissa, of Lumberton, N.J.; brothers, Richard Walsh and his wife, Francis, Paul Walsh and his wife, Vinona, John Walsh, James Walsh and his wife, Charlene; sister, Deanna Walsh; several grandchildren.
