Billie G. Calhoun, 77, of Mount Carmel, Tenn., died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Calhoun was born July 23, 1929, in Kingsport, Tenn. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She worked at Sears in the personnel department, retiring in 1986 after 20 years. She was an active member of Grange Hall United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Glass; her sister, Venice Jones; her brothers, Gay Glass, Carl Glass, Elmer Glass and Buster Glass; and her daughter-in-law, Rita Calhoun.

Mrs. Calhoun is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kelsie R. Calhoun; her son, Randy Calhoun of Southern Pines; her grandson, Jake Calhoun and her stepgranddaughter, Rachel Farris, both of Southern Pines; her sisters, Lora Kate Coffey of Asheville and Monnie Mooneyham of Mount Carmel, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
