The Moore County Literacy Council is offering a volunteer orientation on Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at 175 West New Hampshire Avenue in Southern Pines.

Tutor training will take place on Oct. 18 and 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location.

Donations are accepted to defray the cost of materials.
