Pat and Michael McGowan discuss their busy summers, which have included trips to Scotland and the U.S. Amateur Championship.

Michael qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship in late August and advanced to the match-play portion of the event.

His father, Pat, a 14-year PGA Tour player, played in the event when he was an amateur. This summer, Pat played in the British Senior Open, taking Michael along with him as his caddy.

Pat caddied for Michael, in turn, at the amateur championship, in Hazeltine, Minn.

Pat's wife, and Michael's mother, Bonnie is a former golf star. Michael's grandmother is Peggy Kirk Bell.
