Nanette Marie Lupe Lovendahl, 81, of Pinehurst, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst.

Mrs. Lovendahl was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Frank F. and Marie Sloan Lupe. After attending Loyola University, she married Arne Lingren Lovendahl in Chicago, Ill., on April 15, 1949. During their 57 years of marriage, they lived in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York, before retiring to Pinehurst. She was a homemaker and a volunteer in the health services field. She and a friend, Marjorie Rapp, co-owned an antique linen business for many years.

Mrs. Lovendahl was anticipating the birth of her first great-grandson in September.

Mrs. Lovendahl is survived by her husband, Arne Lovendahl; her daughter, Lyn Langmaid and her husband, Steve, of Livonia, N.Y.; her sons, Anders Lovendahl and his wife, Catherine, of Pinehurst, and Erik Lovendahl and his wife, Kimberly, of Coburg, Ore.; five grandchildren, Alexis, Jane, Keaton, Anders and Olivia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 South Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603.

Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst is serving the family.
