Gail Hobson Burroughs, 70, of Marietta, Ga., died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, at St. John's Episcopal Church in John's Island, S.C., with Father Greg Snyder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burroughs was a retired market researcher for the retail industry. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burroughs. She was formerly a resident of Moore County.

She is survived by her sons, James Burroughs Jr. and his wife, Sally, Steve Burroughs and his wife, Andrea, all of Powder Springs, Ga., and David Burroughs and his wife, Karen, of Dallas, Ga.; brother, Robert Hobson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wilmington; sister, Lee Smith of Charleston, S.C., and grandson, Andrew Burroughs of Powder Springs, Ga.
