Samaritans of Carthage

We are with a group of RVers who come each fall to stay at Pinehurst RV Park and participate in a Habitat for Humanity build.

While on our way to the Patty Duke program at Community College, I lost my purse along U.S. 15/501. I had placed it on the top of the car and did not realize it was missing till we arrived at the Sandhills Community College parking lot.

We immediately retraced our path but there was no sign of it on the road. Since we did not have our car, we returned for the program.

Officer Ledbetter was on parking duty and he phoned in a missing report to police. On return to the RV Park, our "Good Samaritans" were waiting for my return. Through great detective work, they called our daughter in New York and she gave them what information she had and they were able to trace us to the park. They waited for us to return rather than leave it with anyone in our group, for which I was thankful. Otherwise I may not have met Eddie and Cheryl Douglas.

Thank you so very much. Another reason we love your area and look forward to our eighth build next year.
