Pinehurst Residents Dominate This Week's Football Contest Winners

To eliminate the confusion over last week's ballot, the two games that had Georgia Tech playing two different opponents were both considered as right.

So everybody started the week off at 2-0. From there, we had Flora Romig, Dorothy Magg, Steve Lassister, all of Pinehurst, and Bonnie Overton of Jackson Springs and Paul Tilton of Whispering Pines going 15-5. To the tiebreaker game we went, with Oklahoma beating Missouri 26-10 for a total of 36 points.

That gave Romig the $50 first-place check based on her tiebreak number of 35, while Magg grabbed the $30 second-place money with her total of 39 points. Lassiter claimed the $20 third-place money with his total of 42. Overton had 45 for her total, while Tilton also thought 45 points would be scored.

As for me, I went 14-6, and now stand at 92-68 overall (that includes my great 0-20 week), just 20 games behind leader David Hale of Seven Lakes. He is 112-48.

Not much space, but I'll make my picks anyway: Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Chicago, St. Louis, N.Y. Giants, Buffalo, Washington, Baltimore, Atlanta, San Diego, Minnesota, Denver, New England, Seattle, Clemson, Tennessee, Ga. Tech, Arkansas, ECU, Wake Forest.
