The U.S. Postal Service will mark mail with the second annual Jackson Springs Homecoming postmark with a special postal cancellation Saturday, Oct. 14.

The unique postmark featuring an image of the Jackson Springs depot is free.

Postal Service personnel will set up a temporary post office at the old depot from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the event. The cancellation postmark will apply to any item bearing first-class postage. The post office will also have envelopes with a stamp and the special cancellation available for sale.

Anyone who would like to order the postmark by mail can write to Nancy M. Boroughs, Postmaster, P.O. Box 9998, Jackson Springs NC 27271-9998. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return. Mail-order requests must be postmarked no later than Nov. 14.
