Unselfish Pinewildians

Numerous Pinewild residents graciously volunteer their time, effort and expertise to area organizations and charities such as Habitat for Humanity, FirstHealth Hospital, the tutoring center at SHCC and the Empty Stocking, to name just a few.

Moreover, representing their churches and hence the Pinehurst area, on several occasions many individuals from the Pinewild community traveled to Mississippi to assist in the ongoing post-Katrina relief efforts.

These facts certainly do not resonate with The Pilot's mean-spirited Oct. 1 editorial characterizing Pinewild residents as selfish, mouthing in unison, "What's in it for us?"
