Moore County Offers Youth Leagues, Clinics Registration

Moore County Parks and Recreation is holding registration for its youth basketball and cheerleading programs from now until Friday, Oct. 13. The cost is $20 per player for basketball and $40 (includes uniform) per child for cheerleading.

The programs consist of different age group leagues from the ages of 5 through 12. Registration can be done at the Moore County Parks and Recreation office at 155 Hillcrest Park Lane, Carthage, or on-line at www.mooecountyparksandrec.com by using the paypal form. A copy of birth certificate is required along with completed registration form.

The department is also offering a boys' and girls' basketball Instructional skills clinic for ages 5 through 12 at Union Pines High School on Oct. 17 and Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The fee is $20. Registration can be done at the recreation office at Hillcrest Park during the week (8 a.m. until 5 p.m.) or at the Union Pines gym at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 17.

There are also clinics planned for cheerleaders. There are at Union Pines on Oct. 28, North Moore High School on Nov. 11 and West Pine Middle School on Nov. 18.

Each clinic, for ages 5 through 12, runs from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost to attend is $10.
