Marlon "Buck" Thomas Davis, Sr., 82, of Aberdeen, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Bethesda Cemetery, with the Rev. Beth Hood officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst.

Mr. Davis was a member of the Page Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a former employee of Page and Shamburger Company and the Aberdeen Coke Plant. For more than 15 years, he was a member of the Pinebluff Fire Department, where he oversaw the Junior Fire Department. He was also a United States Navy veteran.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Myrta Davis; two sons, Marlon Davis Jr. and Robert Davis, both of Aberdeen; one daughter, Lynn D. Lee of Aberdeen; two brothers, Jimmy Davis and Richard Davis, both of Aberdeen; four sisters, Lucille Graham and Peggy Reaves, both of Aberdeen, Doris Davidson of Raleigh and Ruby Cothran of Norwalk, Ohio; six grandchildren, Michelle Lee, Christy Lee, Jason Lee, Brad Davis, Josh Davis and Clay Davis; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials are directed to Page Memorial United Methodist Church, Building Fund or Food Pantry, P.O. Box 695, Aberdeen, NC 28315.

Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst is serving the family.
