Linus never found the Great Pumpkin, but Peanuts fans are guaranteed to find the Great Pumpkin Patch this October aboard the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad.
The railroad hosts The Great Pumpkin Patch Express every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Oct. 13 through Oct. 29. Passengers board the train in Dillsboro and enjoy a reading of "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on their leisurely ride.
Once at the Great Pumpkin Patch, guests are greeted by Charlie Brown and Lucy, and have a photo opportunity with each. At the patch, children can enjoy hayrides, a hay bale maze, face painting, trick or treating, petting zoo, live music, a bouncy train and big slide. Guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes as well.
The Great Pumpkin Patch Express departs the Dillsboro Depot at 2:05 p.m. every Friday and Sunday from Oct. 13-29. It departs at 8:45 a.m. every Saturday during that time period.
