Moore County sheriff's deputies arrested a teenager Monday and charged him with stabbing a Vass man.

At about 1:20 a.m. Monday, deputies arrived at a home on Middlewood Road in Cameron where they found Charles Antuan Person, 26, had been stabbed in the stomach and slashed across the face.

Person was listed in good condition Tuesday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Deputies arrested Jonathon Patrick Lee, 17, of Vass, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Lt. Richard Talbert said that the Sheriff's Office wasn't sure exactly what led up to the stabbing.

Deputies believe the stabbing occurred during a fight between Person and David Wayne Lee, 19, of Cameron. Talbert said that he didn't think the two Lees were brothers.

Talbert said deputies believe that Jonathon Lee arrived while Person and David Lee were fighting and that Jonathon Lee jumped into the altercation and stabbed Person.

Talbert said deputies aren't ready to identify a motive, and the investigation is continuing.

"We didn't get the whole story," he said.

Jonathon Lee was released into his father's custody. His first court hearing is Oct. 19.
