First Baptist Church of West End WMU is having a yard sale and hot dog sale Saturday, Oct. 14, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church fellowship building. Proceeds will go to mission projects.
The church is located at 5205 N.C. 211, West End.
Rainbow Tea
Shady Grove Holiness Church will be the site of the Southeastern District Conference Rainbow Tea Saturday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 29, at 11:30 a.m., the conference will be closing out with a service.
"All members as well as visitors are encouraged to attend," says Pastor Melvin Chambers.
The church is located two miles east of Aberdeen on N.C. 211.

Homecoming
Cornerstone Baptist Church will hold its homecoming service, Sunday, Oct. 15, at 11a.m. A covered dish lunch will be served after the service.
The church is located at 656 Hoffman Road, West End.
Conference
Crossroads Community Church will host a women's conference and luncheon with inspirational and motivational guest speakers Saturday, Oct. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those planning to attend the luncheon should call 949-3971 to make a reservation. Lunch, which includes a full meal, is $7 per person. There is no charge for the conference itself.
The church is located at the Whispering Pines intersection of Vass-Carthage and Niagara-Carthage roads.
Fall Festival
A fall festival will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church, 315 South Gaines St. in Southern Pines Saturday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. Children and youth are asked to wear biblical outfits. There will be an assortment of games plus a male teen fashion show.
"Plenty of food and soft drinks will be provided," says a spokesman. "Come out and enjoy the fun."
Appreciation
A pastors' appreciation service for Bishop Roy A. McKoy and Pastor Costella McKoy will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m. to be held at Pentecostal Assembly of Jesus Christ, 150 Eastman Rd., Southern Pines.
The guest speaker will be Elder Kent L. McMillian of Fryes Chapel FWB Church, Vass.
Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek Baptist Church will hear from Thomas and Kannika Tucker, missionaries from Thailand, Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m., a disaster relief meeting and dinner will be held at Cafe Vesuvio in Sanford. This meeting is for those who have been involved with disaster relief efforts or for those interested in being involved in the future.
The church is located at 2280 Nicholson Rd. Cameron.
Women's Day
The United Methodist Women of Fletcher's Chapel in Hoffman will celebrate Women's Day Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.
The guest speaker is Minister Pamela Morgan of Garner.
"Women are asked to wear white," says a spokesman.
Fall Services
Marcus United Methodist Church, 2081 Windblow Rd., Jackson Springs, will hold a series of fall praise and worship services Sunday, Oct. 15, through Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Speakers and vocalists include Tony Seawell and Lisa Seawell (Sunday); Felton Capel, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hogan and the Calvary Gospel Choir of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church (Monday); the Rev. Buck Frye (Tuesday); the Rev. Donald Daniels, Claudia Dwight and the Jackson Springs Presbyterian Church Choir (Wednesday).
Other guests include the New Hope Baptist Church Choir, the Sardis United Methodist Church Choir and vocalist Lynn Hancock.
Services begin at 7 p.m. each evening.
The church will hold "Treasure Seekers" meetings for children and youth the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
Snacks and lunch will be served.

Kingdom Builders
The Kingdom Builders City of Refuge Church in Rockingham will be celebrating with their pastor, Apostle Ronnie W. Moore, on his pastoral anniversary.
These services will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and continue through Friday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. nightly, concluding on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be various speakers nightly.

The Crystalaires will sponsor a spaghetti supper at Fletcher's Chapel United Methodist Church Friday, Oct. 13.
Plates are $6 and include a tossed salad and garlic bread.

Celebration
Fellowship House of God in Carthage will celebrate the anniversary of Bishop Willie Gilmore through Sunday, Oct. 15.
Speakers include Bishop Siler of West End (Wednesday); Pastor McMillan of Siler City and Bishop Brown of Taylortown (Thursday); Apostle Dixon of Jackson Hamlet (Friday); Bishop Williams of Wadesboro (Saturday) and Bishop Ricky Smith of Southern Pines (Sunday).
Services are at 7:30 p.m. nightly.
Revival
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carthage will hold revival services through Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. each evening.
The featured speaker will be the Rev. Huford Cash of Greenville, S.C. Cash is well known as a revival and camp meeting leader throughout North and South Carolina.
There will be special singing each night, and a nursery will be provided.
Youth Retreat
Minister Illie Baker Jr. of Come As You Are Evangelist Center in Aberdeen announces a spiritual youth retreat called "In High Pursuit of God's Presence" to be held Oct. 20-22 at Camp Dixie in Fayetteville.
Cost of the retreat for youths (limited to ages 14-25) is $125, which covers meals, two nights' lodging, recreational activities (canoeing, basketball, swimming, go-carts) and retreat materials.
"Space is limited," says Baker. "You must register in advance--as soon as possible!"

Bethlehem Revival
Bethlehem Baptist Church will hold revival through Wednesday, Oct. 11, with the Rev. Scott Yow speaking.
A covered dish dinner is planned after the Sunday morning worship service. Evening services will be at 7 p.m. Mitzi Brooks will sing at the Sunday night service.
Homecoming
Pineywood Baptist Church will hold revival through Friday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Flynn Richardson of Norwood.

UU Breakfast
The Unitarian Universalist Group will be meeting for breakfast at the Days Inn Restaurant in Southern Pines the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
The next "UU Breakfast Group" will begin at 9 a.m., Sunday, Oct 22. There will be a discussion group following the breakfast in the Celebrity Room.

A church ministry looking for donations for homeschool material (pre-K, second grade, and fourth grade).

Bazaar
Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1517 Luther Way, Southern Pines, will hold its annual benefit bazaar and yard sale on Friday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event includes a big yard sale, caf with breakfast and lunch menu, handmade crafts and bake sale.
All proceeds are donated to local programs that aid the needy in Moore County -- the Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care, Inc., the Sandhills Interfaith Hospitality Network and Our Saviour's Discretionary Fund. The Coalition assists needy Moore County residents with clothing, food and financial assistance, while SIHN helps homeless families with meals, shelter, financial counseling and employment assistance. Our Saviour's discretionary fund assists those in need with funds for rent deposits or payments, utility bills, prescriptions and other needs.
Donations of household items, books, jewelry, furniture, toys, books, fall and winter clothing, infant and children's clothing are needed. Donations may be brought to the church on Oct. 11 to 14 and Oct. 16 to 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements for pick up of large items may be made by calling 215-0557.
The Social Ministry Committee of Our Saviour, under the chairmanship of Rich Manning, sponsors the benefit which raised close to $10,00 in 2006. In addition, the Pines Chapter of Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans has applied for additionals fund to augment the bazaar proceeds.
The yard sale will include fall and winter clothing for adults and children, books, CDs, videos, furniture, small appliances, jewelry, fine gifts and other household items. Cakes, cookies, pies, breads and candies will be on sale at the bake sale. The craft sale will feature all types of handmade crafts and holiday items. The caf offers breakfast and lunch selection.
The bazaar steering committee includes Cathie Nichols, chair; Dale Streicker, co-chair, Tom Boon, Florrie Crasafulli, Jean D'Andrea, Jackie Koder, Ruth Kohler John and Annemarie Loeser, Jean Henning, Lois Frazelle, Chuck and Helen Moeser, Edd and Dorothy Sechrist, Pat Streicker, D.W. Wood, Bill and Phyllis Bradley and Carole Williams.
Dinner
Eureka Presbyterian Church will hold its chicken and dumplings and barbecue pork supper Saturday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. Adult plates are $6; children eat for $3.
The church is located at 2185 Farmlife School Road beside Sandhills Farmlife School.
Fall Festival
Aberdeen First Baptist Church will hold a fall festival for children and adults Saturday, Oct. 28, from noon to 3 p.m.
There will be food, music, puppets, games and prizes.
Clothing Offered
The TLC Mission offers inexpensive clothes for men, women, and children. Donations are accepted.
The mission, located on N.C. 211 near the line between Moore and Hoke counties, is open Monday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m. For information, call 944-6064.
Poster Contest
Church Women United of Moore County is sponsoring a poster contest for young people for World Community Day, which is Friday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines.
The theme is "peace, unity, and understanding."
Posters may be up to 23 inches by 16 inches and may be crayon, marker, watercolor, oil, collage or photographs. Posters must be submitted by Sunday, Oct. 22. Contact Carol Brown at 949-2148 to arrange submissions.
Christian Singles
Christian Singles, for adult Christian singles from 40 years of age and up, meets each Monday at 6:30 p.m. at various restaurants in the Southern Pines and Aberdeen area.
