I read Steve Bouser's Oct. 4 column about the mountain lion footprint, and I agree. It is a large cat print. I don't know who the wildlife expert is in Raleigh; but as a hunter for 50 years, I know what a bear track looks like.

Unless this bear has had foot surgery to remove his claws, the print was made by a big cougar that is probably ranging over a large part of Moore County. Maybe during this year's hunting season, the cat will be seen and photographed.
