Pearl Dew, 86, formerly of Southern Pines, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Mecklenburg Health Care Center in Charlotte.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, at Lumber Bridge Baptist Church, 200 Church Street, Lumber Bridge.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. from the graveside at Oakdale Cemetery, Lumber Bridge, with the Rev. W. Gerald Tew officiating.

Miss Dew was born May 10, 1920, in Robeson County, the daughter of William Franklin and Flora May Mitchell Dew. She was a registered nurse having worked for 30 years with the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Fayetteville, and previously was a nurse with Moore County Hospital. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dr. Clifton C. McLean in 1996.

Miss Dew is survived by her twin sister, Laura D. McLean of Charlotte; her niece, Martha McLean Lentz and her husband, Steve, of Charlotte; a grandniece, Ashley McLean Lentz; and a grandnephew, Bradley McLean Lentz.

Flowers will be appreciated and those who prefer may send gifts in her memory to Lumber Bridge Baptist Church, P.O. Box 80, Lumber Bridge, NC 28357.
