Belk shoppers can get a special discount on their purchases and benefit the local Salvation Army during Belk's "Gift It from the Heart" event December 5-7, in all store locations, including Belk in Southern Pines.

Customers who make a minimum $1 donation to The Salvation Army will receive a "Gift It from the Heart" discount shopping ticket that can be used in any Belk store during the event dates.

The ticket entitles customers to a 20 percent discount on any single regular-price item from departments throughout the store, including home, and a 15 percent discount on any single sale-priced item from departments throughout the store, including home.

Limited exclusions will apply.

The discount shopping tickets will be available from Salvation Army representatives and volunteers beginning this week and will be offered in Belk stores at the sales registers on the event dates.

Local Salvation Army organizations will receive all donations collected for the shopping tickets prior to the event, and all donations collected in Belk stores during the event dates will be given to the national Salvation Army organization.
