This holiday season Temple Theatre in Sanford will offer the newest installment of the popular Broadway Christmas series, The Christmas Spectacular. This premiere production features the classic carols and festive favorites that make the season memorable.

The cast will explore the magic, and occasional mayhem, of the holiday season in an old-fashioned radio show setting.

Audiences are sure to love the annual yuletide merriment, talented performers, and myriad of seasonal tunes that will carry everyone through till New Year's.

This production is written and directed by Michael Lilly, whose previous credits at Temple include last year's "The Best (of the Rest) of Broadway Christmas."

The cast features Temple newcomers Christopher Holmes, Andrea Washington, and Amanda Treadway, while Terrill Williams ("Smokey Joe's Caf") and Alison Lawrence ("Man of La Mancha") return to the Temple stage.

The production is supported by a team of talented designers, directors, and choreographers including Jan Powell, musical director; Wendy Hayes, choreographer; Michael Brocki, set design; David Castaneda, lighting design, and Mary McKeithen, costume design.

The production, sponsored by Edward Jones Investments, Downtown Sanford, Inc., Central Carolina Hospital, and Progress Energy, will be presented Nov. 30Dec. 17.

Opening night is Friday, Dec. 1, and the audience is invited to meet performers and designers after the show while enjoying a complimentary champagne toast.

Tickets are on sale now, $20 for adults, $10 for students and children, $16 for groups, $16 for active military personnel, and $16 for Lee County educators.

Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to show times.
