The Crains Creek Fire Department had to call in several departments Tuesday night to help battle a fire that destroyed a home in Mount Pleasant.
Chief Kenneth Mackey said that several other fire departments had to assist because the modular home on Wright Road was deep in the woods, making it difficult to get water to the scene.
Fire departments from as far away as Spring Lake in Cumberland County were called in to help.
"We couldn't hardly get in or out," he said.
Firefighters set up a staging area near the home to coordinate getting water to the scene of the fire.
No one was injured in the blaze.
The family that owns the home was out of town, Mackey said. He didn't know what caused the fire.
"It's still under investigation," Mackey said.
