Marie "Louise" Zito Colozzi, 82, of Belle Meade in Southern Pines, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the chapel at Belle Meade in Southern Pines, with Fathers James M. Laboski and John Nicola as Celebrants. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

Born in Providence, R.I., to the late Michael and Antonette DeSandro Zito, Mrs. Colozzi was an avid bridge player and gourmet cook. Upon moving to the Sandhills, she was a volunteer with FirstHealth Hospice for more than 20 years and the American Red Cross. She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Arthur Colozzi.

Mrs. Colozzi is survived by her son, Michael Carl Colozzi and his wife, Sharon, of Pinehurst; and three grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Rausch, and Suzanne Boone.
