McDevitt Sotheby's International Realty has announced that the firm will host an event called "A Field Day" on Sunday, Nov. 19, from noon until 5 p.m. at The Fields.

The Fields is a new 1,200-acre gated community of 10- to 20-acre home and farm sites near Pinehurst and Southern Pines. The Fields is off N.C. 24/27 on Bryant Road.

The event, which is open to the public, is being held to introduce the opening of Phase 2 of the community. A number of homes and horse farms have already been built in Phase 1, which is almost sold out.

Hayrides on the miles of trails throughout The Fields will be offered. Refreshments will also be served.

Representatives of McDevitt Sotheby's International Realty, The Fields Development Co. and Knollbrook Farm Management will be on hand to lead tours and provide detailed information about the community.

Horses are permitted at The Fields, and the 15-mile trail system is open to residents of the community and their guests for horseback riding, walking, jogging and hiking. Motorized vehicles are not permitted on the trails.

In addition to the trails, the community features a 20-acre common field and two common riding rings.

Wooded lots and lots with cleared and seeded pasture are available.

Lot prices range from $135,000 to $240,000.

McDevitt Sotheby's Inter-national Realty has three offices in Southern Pines and Pinehurst, with its main office at 165 E. Pennsylvania Ave. in Southern Pines.

Formerly known as McDevitt Town & Country Properties, the firm accepted an invitation to join Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates Inc. in June.

The firm is independently owned and operated, and specializes in representing extraordinary and unique properties in all price ranges.
