William Ford Todd, 84, of Pinehurst, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines, with the Rev. Fred Thompson officiating.
Mr. Todd was born in Red Bank, N.J., son of the late Harry Grant Todd Jr. and Mary Culp Todd. He served in the United States Air Force Weather Service from 1942-45 during which he was stationed in the Philippines.
Mr. Todd graduated from Rutgers University and then began a 38-year career with the Aramco Oil Company, where he worked as a petroleum economist. In 1951, Mr. Todd's services were loaned to the federal government for 18 months. He worked for the Petroleum Administration for Defense under the Department of the Interior.
Mr. Todd was a 20-year resident of the Country Club of North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Heron Todd; two sons, Christopher Todd and Gordon Mitchell Todd and his wife, Susan; one daughter, Ellen Todd Sibelius and her husband, Eric; his sister, Carol Todd John and her husband, Alvin, of Oak Ridge, N.J.; four grandchildren, Robin Sibelius Cannon, Ashley Lauren Todd, Laura Sibelius Haley and Todd Eric Sibelius; and one great-grandchild, Riley Nicole Cannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines is serving the family.
