Kuhn Dental Associates has announced that Dr. Mandy Kuhn Grimshaw has furthered her skills in aesthetic dentistry by completing advanced training that included a patient's extensive smile makeover.

Conducted in two stages, the 48-hour course began September 6-8 and continued October 11-13. Both sessions were held in Nevada at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, one of the nation's most prestigious training facilities in advanced dentistry.

Accompanying Grimshaw were team members Angela Deaton, Diane Moore, Ashley Richey and Cathy Stout.

As part of the course, Grimshaw applied the latest techniques on a male patient from her practice. During the September session, she used advanced methods to diagnose, develp a treatment plan and prepare the patient's teeth for twelve porcelain veneers. She then placed provisionals for a comfortable and functional smile until his porcelain veneers were ready for placement.

In the October session, Grimshaw placed the final veneers created to her precise specifications by MAC, a dental lab that specializes in aesthetic porcelain restor-ations, providing her patient with an appealing smile, balanced attractively to facial features, according to a news release.

Because the techniques taught by the Institute also incorporate methods that create proper bite alignment, patients also receive smile makeovers that promote optimal health.

The Las Vegas Institute provides a skill level that very few dentists in the nation are able to offer, according to Grimshaw.

Grimshaw is in practice at Kuhn Dental Associates with her father, Dr. David Kuhn, and brother, Dr. Ritt Kuhn. In addition to aesthetic dentistry, they provide comprehensive adult care services of restorative and general dentistry, dental implants and gum therapy.
