Capitol Steps Come to Town

If there is something funny going on in Washington (and there usually is), the Capitol Steps will be there to sing about it.

Presented by the Arts Council of Moore County, they will return to Southern Pines this Sunday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m., at Robert E. Lee Auditorium at Pinecrest High School to do just that.

Tickets (available in advance at Campbell House, 482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines), are $25 for ACMC members, $30 for nonmembers, and $15 for children under 18.

The performance is sponsored by The Pilot, STAR 102.5FM, Time Warner Cable and WIOZ 550AM. For tickets to see the Capitol Steps on Nov. 5 and other information, call the Arts Council at 910-692-4356 or visit www.artscouncil-moore.org.

Improv Show

North Moore High School will host an improv show featuring the students of the drama club Monday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m.

There will also be a raffle at the show; tickets are $1 for a raffle ticket, and $5 to get into the show.

"We are using the show as a fundraiser for a possible trip somewhere for the club," says a spokesman.

Take-out plates are available. The price is $5.

The event will be held at the Vass United Methodist Church.
