The outages were in Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and a few in Whispering Pines.

Progress Energy crews managed to have most of the customers back on line by the time the storm passed.

"Within a matter of minutes," said Andy Honeycutt, community relations manager for Progress Energy.

There were about 360 customers who had to wait a little longer.
