"Billy Graham: God's Ambassador," premiering Wednesday, July 26, at 8 p.m., on UNC-TV, features two hours of interviews and rare archival footage from Graham's early life, his ministry and his worldwide evangelical efforts.
For the first time, the Billy Graham Evangelical Association opened its storied archives to allow this intimate portrait of Graham.
In the process, Gaither Television Production crews, as part of the Gaither Gospel Series, painstakingly researched the Billy Graham Archives at Wheaton College and crisscrossed the country talking with those closest to the spiritual leader.
The result, a nonmusical documentary over six years in the making, includes interview footage with President George W. Bush, former President George H.W. Bush, NBC news anchor Brian Williams, close associates and family members.
"Billy Graham: God's Ambassador" also airs several times on UNC-NC --Saturday, July 29, at 5 p.m. and 8 PM; Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 2, at midnight.
