The North Carolina Harmony Brigade (NCHB) is returning to the Sandhills for the 15th consecutive time, to sing in close, four-part harmony, barbershop style.

This 140-man a cappella chorus will perform on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Owens Auditorium on the campus of the Sandhills Community College.

The NCHB consists primarily of members and guests from all the barbershop chapters in the state and also some from as far away as New York, Georgia and Indiana. They must come prepared to sing completely from memory, each one of 12 new songs selected for the program each year. The highlight of these thrilling performances, are the quartets that also come to have their talents showcased before a very experienced audience.

Moore County is home to the Golf Capital Chorus, which has been showing folks in the area what barbershopping is all about for many years and has created an audience that has come to expect a lot for their money. Twelve men from their organization will be among the NCHB performers

One of the quartets highlighted in the NCHB show is Quadzilla. They are one of the top competitively ranked men's barbershop quartets in North Carolina. These four singers must enjoy traveling because they have performed not only at many professional venues in this state such as Charlotte Bobcats and Wake Forest University games, but also in many parts of the southeastern United States.

Tickets can be purchased for $12 each at the following locations: The Arts Council of Moore Co. at the Campbell House, The Days Inn U.S. 1, Southern Pines, where the NCHB is headquartered, or members, Bob Tweed at 295-3199 and Bob Boone at 715-1458.
